Washing Fastness Tester TF418D
The Wash Colour Fastness Tester to determine color fastness to washing or dry cleaning to washing fastness methods of ISO, AATCC, and Marks & Spencers standards. The wash fastness tester uses a stainless steel rotor to hold the wash basin on each of the four sides and rotate it at a constant speed of 40 rpm (+/-2 rpm). The wash bath needs to be properly preheated.
Description
Application
Washing Fastness Tester, to determine color fastness to washing or dry cleaning to ISO, AATCC, and Marks & Spencer standards. To offer a reliable and safe washing fastness test, a washing fastness tester is equipped with a water-lacking alarm and protection device.
The washing fastness tester uses a stainless steel rotor to hold washpots on each of the four sides and rotates at a constant 40 rpm (+/-2 rpm). The sealing material of the containers is a Neoprene rubber gasket or an optional Teflon gasket.
To carry out the tests of AATCC and ISO standards fast, TESTEX redesigned the model TF418E. The washing fastness testing machine TF418E has two baths to offer a maximum combined capacity of 16 vessels. In addition, the TF418E has a completely independent control and drive system, so it can be used as two separate machines for testing ISO and AATCC standards.

Test Principle
The textile sample and the control assay are exposed to the nitrogen oxide produced by the combustion gas simultaneously until the color of the control assay is equal to the color of the fading standard. Evaluate the discoloration of the sample with the grayscale. If the color of the sample does not change in one or more cycles, fumigation may continue.
Equipment and Materials
Fumigation bin, control assay, fading sample, gray scale, butane gas and suitable combustion device, urea solution, perchloroethylene, dry cleaning solvent, AATCC standard detergent, and the sample of 40mm*100mm size.
If test the colour fastness to burnt gas fumes after dry cleaning, the sample should be immersed in cold perchloroethylene for 10 min, then squeezed dry and dried in air. After dry cleaning and before testing, retain a piece as the original sample to compare with the tested sample.
If test the color fastness to burnt gas fumes after washing, put the sample into the treatment solution containing 5g/L AATCC standard detergent and treat the sample below 40℃ for 10min, then dry it in the air. After washing and before testing, retain a piece as the original sample to compare with the tested sample.
Test Program
1 Hung each sample and control assay freely in the fumigation chamber, keep them out of touch with each other and will not touch the hot metal surface. If the sample number is less than the desired number, fill with the same type of undyed fabric. Ignite the gas combustion equipment, adjust the flame and ventilation, so that make the temperature in the bin does not exceed 60℃.
2 Remove the sample from the fumigation bin, and grading the sample with gray card immediately.
3 Take the sample with color change and the corresponding original sample together, and add the control assay, immerse them in the prepared urea solution for 5 min, wash it fully, then dry them in the air with temperature exceeding 60℃. Compared with the sample treated with a urea solution, evaluate the discoloration of the sample with the gray card. If you want to keep it, store it in the dark.
4 After the first cycle test put back the samples that have not changed color and have not been treated with a urea solution into the fumigation bin together with a new control assay to carry on the test. Until the color change of the second control assay is equivalent to the fading standard color.
5 The test may repeat the specified number of cycles or until a certain degree of discoloration occurs of the sample.
6 After each fumigation cycle, remove the samples out from the fumigation bin and compare with their respective samples immediately.
Test Report Content
1 The number and year of the standard
2 The specifications required for specimens
3 The grade of discoloration of each sample and the fumigation cycles number of the sample
4 The average temperature of the test, describe the method if increased humidity.
Characteristics of Fumigation Colour Fastness Tester
1 The instrument combustion chamber equipped with a temperature alarm system, an alarm will be issued when the temperature in the combustion chamber exceeds the set value, make the operation safer.
2 Use the touch-screen operating system, good stability, intuitive interface, simple operation, and easy to control.
3 Rotary test frame, make the sample fumigated evenly and fully so that the test results are more accurate.
4 Install some air holes on the machine, which can effectively prevent from pouring into the test, so that the test results are more accurate.
5 Install LED white light lamp, which can be used to observe the change of pattern effectively
6 The instrument is equipped with a set of wire mesh clip to replace it easily, avoid interruption smoke by manual operation effectively.
